Creative Walls

Looking to revamp your walls but unsure where to start? Tired of plain white walls but hesitant to opt for traditional paintings or prints? Explore these innovative ways to elevate your space without relying solely on framed art.

Decorative Plates

Plates aren’t just for meals anymore. With the abundance of unique dinnerware available today, showcasing them is a great way to add charm to your space. Instead of hiding your best china in a cabinet, consider hanging them on the wall to create a striking statement. Mix and match various plates for a playful touch that elevates your décor beyond traditional paintings.

Skateboards

For ages, esteemed artists like Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Sheila Bridges have lent their iconic works to skateboard designs, offering a fresh perspective on their art. Skateboards are a unique way to showcase pieces from your favorite artists in a new light. Whether you opt for one or a whole set, the distinctive shape paired with recognizable artwork is sure to grab any visitor’s attention.

Wallpaper

The world is your oyster with wallpaper and I truly believe that wallpaper is the perfect addition to any room. Whether you use it as the focal point or as a backdrop for additional art, wallpaper brings depth and sophistication to any space. Wallpaper has the power to transform a room by introducing color, warmth, or pattern to an otherwise dull room or area. Don’t hesitate to add wallpaper to your space, just as there are bold, vibrant wall coverings, there are also neutral and subtly textured options as well. There is a perfect wallpaper out there for you.

Shelving

Shelving is an excellent opportunity to inject personality into your space by showcasing the items that hold special meaning to you. Whether it’s books, sculptures, records, candles, a camera collection, or anything else you can think of… you have the freedom to display whatever brings you joy. This is the perfect way to create a space that is authentically yours.

Mirrors

Mirrors are a fantastic addition to any space. Not only do they offer the chance for more frequent self-reflection, but they also amplify light, creating the illusion of a larger space, which is especially beneficial in smaller rooms. If you are unsure about wall décor, adding a mirror can instantly enhance and expand your space

Greenery

Plants are a staple in many households. If you’re a fan. Consider incorporating them into your décor by displaying, either by displaying them on the walls or hanging them from the ceiling at various lengths to add dimension and fill empty spaces. Another option is to create a live wall, which offers a natural and interactive element to the room.

Texture

Lastly, consider texture. Whether a chunky blanket or linen curtains, don’t be afraid to use conventional household items in unconventional ways. One example I came across recently, was the use of window curtains to create a canopy bed. This individual hung two rods from the ceiling and draped the curtain fabric over the bed to create a canopy like feature. This unique idea not only adds visual interest, but removes the need for traditional art above your bed. A technique like this is particularly effective in larger spaces and rooms where artwork already covers all the other walls, as a canopy bed carries substantial visual weight.
